Our Policies
Here you will find all our policies for your peace of mind and ours.
Code of conduct
We are an anti racist, inclusive company, practising cultural appreciation and direct, non violent communication.
Students and teachers must agree to take full responsibility for their actions, feelings and words at all times. We consider this essential to maintain positive group dynamics and respect within the company.
Maintaining safe space is of paramount importance to us. If the processes described in our policies are not respected and/or you have behaved in way that compromises confidentiality and the work we do, you will be asked to leave.
Discrimination
We harbour a zero tolerance policy towards racism, homophobia, bullying & othering. Any inappropriate racial or homophobic language or slurs will result in immediate dismissal from the company and all its activities.
Unfounded gossip or unkindness of any kind will not be tolerated- this includes unnecessarily confrontational behaviour, overt disrespect and foul language.
Conflict
We have a full conflict resolution process available to support you (see below).

Safeguarding
It is essential that every effort is made to ensure that children and adults at risk of abuse can engage with the diaspora arts, culture and coaching safely, and that there are effective processes and procedures in place to respond to concerns should they arise. Please find our full safeguarding policy here.
Privacy (incl. Media)
We respect your privacy and all data collected in person and online is for the sole use of the companies evolution and betterment. Your data will be stored for the sole purpose of confirming attendance or bookings and informing you of offers and news related to our offerings and coaching.
I) Phone numbers, emails, messages and all communications between ourselves, teachers and students are confidential.
II) In regards to WhatsApp groups and online work, where students are found to have shared material or media outside of the group without prior consent their group privileges will be revoked and they will no longer be part of the online community.
III) In regards to filming and photography, no one can share your likeness without your consent. By attending intensives you are consenting to being filmed and photographed in principle to help promote the work we do. We do our utmost to make sure the focus is on the group rather than individuals, however sometimes this cannot be avoided. You may request not to be included at anytime.
Conflict Resolution
To ensure that our space remains safe and inclusive, please always assume unconditional positive regard is at the basis of all our communication.
Should you come across anything you feel is of concern, please bring this to the team immediately for consideration.
In the event that students or teachers feel they need to voice discontent/dissatisfaction we welcome direct, non violent discussion. The said party must come directly to us with any concerns in the first instance and keep our discussions (online and in person) confidential.
We understand that this can be challenging sometimes but self advocacy and direct, non violent communication is part of training. The process is as follows:
I) Before contacting us please make sure you have not assumed the worst of the person or the situation, take a beat to acknowledge your feelings and question whether their intensity is commensurate with what you are about to do. Take a few days to step back and assess the situation.
II) If after this time you need to talk it through, contact us via email to ask for clarification and discussion. Please place ‘CR request’ in the subject line.
III) Resolution and mediation will be scheduled for a set time to come to a constructive solution.
IV) If a resolution is not possible, or the groups reputation, ethos and teachers have been fundamentally disrespected, a decision will be made in the best interest of all concerned.
Non- negotiable rules around CR
For safeguarding and data protection purposes this process must be started via email and resolved via phone/video call only. If you do WhatsApp, you will be respectfully redirected and no further action/communication will be undertaken until the process has been properly completed.
