Who Are We

Job Descriptions:

Different women is a registered social enterprise and business for good providing bespoke, public facing and corporate online and in person coaching, events and performances. Our mission is to help self-identifying WOC/LGBTQ women feel seen, heard and valued in groups of like-minded people through performance and psychology. Our values are truth, wisdom and communication.

 

The following roles would suit someone with experience in the performance and/or wellness industries with expertise working with the POC community in the UK landscape and beyond. You will be working closely with Founder, Lead educator and artist Ariane Barnes to grow and further the businesses' mission and make new connections in the performance and wellness world.

 

Our clients are women from all walks of life with a strong interest in performance, inner transformation and self development; these women are typically multi-passionate and have been through a lot in their lives just to get into the room, you will therefore need to have an understanding of this and the different ways it may present in communication and onboarding.

Please be advised that because of the nature of the work:

  • We particularly welcome applications from self identifying women of colour and LGBTQ orientation.

  • We welcome video applications (for portfolios) but we’d also like to see a covering letter/ written material where appropriate please.

I) PR & Media 
We are looking for a PR agency with a particular interest in promoting and uplifting self identifying WOC and LGBTQI within the cultural education, arts & wellness sector via a special launch project beginning February 2023. 

What we’re looking for

 

Our ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about female empowerment, inclusion and helping women from all walks of life stand tall and strong. You will be eager and able to secure new press and media relationships across platforms to publicize our work and strengthen our brand identity. You will provide the social media team with relevant data to compile reports with an enhanced focus on increasing our reach and contributing to overall conversion rates whilst working closely with the founder to embody the company's values. Essential

  • A track record evidencing you have worked with POC/LGBTQI communities and helped to promote successful events- ongoing classes.

  • An ability to evidence a substantial increase in reach that feeds into strong conversion rates for events from promotion through to ticket sales.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

  • An ability to work independently and proactively to deadlines.

  • Excellent communication; not afraid to pick up the phone. Excellent networking.

  • Clear, authentic and approachable business like manner both via email and on the phone

  • Good overall knowledge of the arts, wellness and cultural education sectors and appropriate contacts.

  • An established network of contacts.

Responsibilities

  • Liaising with media, press, scheduling interviews and appearances

  • Ensuring  all new relationships and contacts are logged and compiled in a reusable format.

  • Ensuring  all new relationships and contacts are a good fit for the brand and working towards equity, inclusion and social justice for WOC/LGBTQI women. 

  • Organising and maintaining the efficiency of  our communication with said connections.

  • Reviewing and suggesting improvements in our company line and communications where appropriate. 

  • Working closely with the founder to ensure all work and communications embody our values.

 

 

Terms

Contract type: Freelance - upto 3 months minimum with a view to becoming permanent.

 

Salary: Project Based : Paid £1000

II) Social Media Manager

We for a social media officer with an extremely creative approach to promoting and uplifting self identifying WOC and LGBTQI within the cultural education, arts & wellness sector via a special launch project beginning February 2023.

What we’re looking for

 

Our ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about female empowerment, inclusion and helping women from all walks of life stand tall and strong through impactful content creation and stategy. You will be eager and able to strategise, manage and co-create content across platforms to publicize our work and strengthen our brand identity whilst compiling data reports with an enhanced focus on increasing our reach and contributing to conversion rates whilst working closely with the founder to embody the company's values.​ (click link)

 

 

Essential

  • A track record evidencing you have worked with ‘hard to reach’ communities and helped to promote successful events- ongoing classes.

  • An ability to evidence a substantial increase in reach that feeds into strong conversion rates for events from promotion through to ticket sales.

  • A highly visual content creation strategist, capable of co-creating ideas and content with artists.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

  • An ability to work independently and proactively to deadlines.

  • Excellent communication; not afraid to pick up the phone. Excellent networking skills.

  • Clear, authentic and approachable business like manner both via email and on the phone

  • Good overall knowledge of the arts, wellness and cultural education sectors and appropriate contacts.

  • An established working method across several platforms including Tik Tok, IG and Linked in.

  • Working knowledge of google pixel and FB for business and collating data in the form of reports.

Responsibilities

  • Liaising with PR, Business support and founder 

  • Creating a long term strategy to achieve maximum reach, following and conversion

  • Co-creating highly visual content with artists and founder

  • Compiling data to evidence social impact and soft outcomes

  • Ensuring all new relationships and contacts are a good fit for the brand and working towards equity, inclusion and social justice for WOC/LGBTQI women. 

  • Organising and maintaining the efficiency of  our communication with said connections.

  • Reviewing and suggesting improvements in our company branding and communications where appropriate. 

  • Working closely with the founder to ensure all work and communications embody our values

III)  Business Support Worker
(Applications are rolling till the Friday 17th FEB - Interviews TBC)
We are looking for a part-time support worker to help with admin, planning and financial applications.

What we’re looking for 

Our ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about female empowerment, inclusion and helping women from all walks of life stand tall and strong. You will be eager and able to secure funding, meet people and work with those that will expand the company whilst helping to take care of admin and working closely with the founder to embody the company's values. You will be working closely with Founder, Lead educator and artist Ariane Barnes to grow and further the businesses mission and make new connections in the performance and wellness world.

 

PLEASE NOTE: Whilst we do offer flexible working conditions, our founder is a type 1 diabetic and has been awarded a special allocation by the government for support - it is therefore imperative that the support worker be in excellent physical and mental health and open to communicating clearly when they need support so things work efficiently.

Essential:

  • Sound business knowledge

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

  • An ability to work independently and pro actively to deadlines.

  • Not afraid to pick up the phone and call the founder or others- good at networking.

  • Clear, authentic and approachable business like manner both via email and on the phone.

  • Good overall knowledge of Arts Council Funding system, Google Docs, Internal ticketing systems and relevant platforms.

  • A track record evidencing you have worked with communities and helped to organise successful events./ ongoing classes.

  • An ability to evidence conversion rates for events from promotion through to ticket sales.

  • Good overall knowledge of social media; FB/INSTA & Linked in

Desirable

  • Existing contacts in performance or wellness

  • Willingness to attend events in person on behalf of DW.

  • An understanding of working with invisible disabilities such as Type 1 Diabetes.

  • London Based (not essential)

  • Some flexibility to attend key events or workshops on evenings and week-ends.

Responsibilities

  • Liaising with freelancers, venues and clients and identifying new working relationships.

  • Applying for funding and identifying new ways to source funding

  • Ensuring training and events run smoothly and deliver a great experience for everyone

  • Organizing and maintaining the efficiency of our communications, emails, groups etc, KPIs and future plans.

  • Reviewing and suggesting improvements to systems as needed- especially financially

  • Working closely with the founder to ensure all work and communications embody our values (click link)

Terms

Contract type: Freelance & Contracted  with a view to becoming permanent.

Salary: Base Rate: Paid £10,428.33 per annum pro rata, paid monthly

Incentive: Option to increase your salary and hours  through successful funding applications.

Hours : Part-time: 9.30 -17.30 Monday and Thursday. *Flexible/TBC*
